This article describes the differences between Quick Add / Inline Intakes vs Create New Associated [Case] and the advantages of using each process to enter cases into Collaborate.
Quick Add / Inline Intakes
Advantages
- Allows Users to quickly enter basic related case information during the Intake process.
- Allows Users to add multiple Associated Cases at once.
- Cases entered this way will appear later on the intake as options in fields where an Associated Case needs to be selected (e.g. Alleged Offenders can be set in an Allegation, or a Caretaker can be set when filling out Parent/Guardian information).
Be Aware
- Users will need to remember to return to those intakes and complete them later, as the cases are set to "Incomplete Intake" upon initial creation.
- Case Copy functionality is not available during this process. This may result in entering the same information multiple times (e.g. multiple members of the same household have the same address and phone number).
Create New Associated [Case]
Advantages
- Gives Users the option to fully complete one Intake at a time.
- User can enter several new cases in a row.
- Case Copy Fields functionality is available during this process.
- Recommended for new Users
Be Aware
- Users will need to remember to navigate to relevant sections on the Intake where they need to select an Associated Case.
