Roles & Permissions are rules, applied to a user, that dictate what that user does and does not have access to in

Collaborate and also what that user can and can not do in Collaborate.

Important Terminology

Before looking at Roles & Permissions, it is important to understand the following vocabulary:

  • A User is the individual logged into Collaborate and is using it. (i.e, You!)
  • A Role is used to define what type or kind of user someone is (i.e, Staff, Supervisor, Administrator, etc.)
  • A Sub Role is used to give the User additional access to Elaborate and Simple Services, as well as Documents and Notes.
  • Permissions allow Users to access the various parts of Collaborate. A user’s access to the different areas is dependent on the Role and Sub Roles that are assigned to that user. The Role’s Permission Settings are decided and defined by your Network Administrators.
