NOTE: You will need your old AND new device with you to perform these steps.
Summary
If you are getting a new device, you can transfer your Google Authenticator App codes from your old device to your new device. To complete this process you must have your old device (with the codes still on it) and your new device.
Transferring MFA Codes
1. Download The Google Authenticator App
Install the Google Authenticator App onto the new device that you will have with you when you login to Collaborate.
- Click here to access the Google Play Store if you are using an Android device.
- Click here to access the Apple App Store if you are using an Apple device.
2. Create a QR Code to Export your accounts
On your old device, open the Google Authenticator App. Select the Overflow Menu (3 vertical dots) and select Transfer Accounts. On the following page, select Export Accounts. A QR code will appear.
3. Import the Codes to your new device
On your new device, open the Google Authenticator App. Select the Overflow Menu (3 vertical dots) and select Transfer Accounts. On the following page, select Import Accounts. Using your new device, scan the QR code that is displayed on your old device from step 2.
4. Delete the Codes from your old device
On your old device, click the back arrow to return to the page that displays the MFA Codes. Then, one at a time, long-press each code and select the delete option (trash can icon). Confirm that you wish to delete the code. Repeat this process for any other codes that you might have on your old device.
