Case Tasks allow you to set tasks for yourself or other users. You can set list due dates and set up reminders to be sent at a specified date. If the Task is a long-term item, you have the option to make the task “hidden” via the List Date feature so it does not appear on the task list until it’s closer to the date when you actually need to complete the task.


View Existing Tasks

From Home Page

From the Home page, you can view cases to which you you have been assigned. By default, you will see only active assignments but you can adjust filters as needed (A). To mark a certain task as complete, click the corresponding Complete link (B). To navigate to a case to which you are assigned, select the corresponding name (C) under the Case column.


From Case Profile Page


From the case's profile page, you can view assignments pertaining to that case. Scroll down and select the Assignments tab. By default, pending and active assignments will be displayed but you can adjust filters (A) as needed. To mark a certain task as complete, click the corresponding Complete link (B). To view details of a particular assignment, select the corresponding View link (C).


Create a New Task


Select Create New Case Task from the sidebar within the Case Actions section.



On the following page, enter the following information:

  1. The Tasks's Title
  2. The Task Type: This setting is for convenience of categorizing the Task.
  3. Description: details to potentially review later to help the user understand the details of the task that needs to be completed
  4. Users: Search and select the User(s) that need to complete the task.
  5. List Date: The date at which the task will appear on the User(s)' Task tab on their respective Home page.
  6. Due Date: the date at which the task should be completed
  7. Send Email Notification: when checked, Collaborate will send an email message to the Users listed above to notify them that a task has been created and is ready for their review

When all information is entered, select either Create & Add New Case Task or Create Case Task depending on the next step you wish to take.



From the Home page, select the Add '+' button next to the filters in the Task tab.



On the following page, enter the following information:

  1. The Task's Title
  2. Description: details to potentially review later to help the user understand the details of the task that needs to be completed
  3. List Date: The date at which the task will appear on the User(s)' Task tab on their respective Home page.
  4. Due Date: the date at which the task should be completed
  5. The Task Type: This setting is for convenience of categorizing the Task
  6. Users: Search and select the User(s) that need to complete the task.
  7. Completed: indicates whether or not the task has been completed


When all information is entered, click the Continue button to save the tas


Edit an Existing Task

You can edit an existing task from two primary locations in Collaborate: the Home page, and the Profile page of the case.


From Home Page

To edit an existing Task via your home page, navigate to the Home page and select the Edit (pencil) icon corresponding to the task you wish to edit. Note that on your homepage you can view and tasks that are assigned to you under the Tasks tab. You can view and edit all tasks for your entire site by viewing the All Tasks tab.


From Case Profile Page

To edit an existing Task via the case's profile page, navigate to the case's profile page, scroll down, and select the Task Lists tab. Select the Title of the corresponding to the task you wish to edit.

NOTE: On the Task List tab under the case's profile, you can view and edit all tasks related to that case,


On the following page, select the Edit This Task link located within the Task section on the left side of the page.


Mark a Task as Complete

From Home Page

To mark an existing task as complete via your home page, navigate to the Home page. Select the Tasks tab and select the Complete link corresponding to the task you wish to mark as complete. 


From Case Profile Page

To mark an existing task as completed via the case's profile page, navigate to the case's profile page, scroll down, and select the Task Lists tab. Select the Title of the corresponding to the task you wish to edit.

On the following page, select the click here to mark as completed link located near the top of the page.
