This article will discuss how to change the Intake Type of a case.
You may encounter situations where a Hotline Intake becomes a Client at your center, or perhaps you entered someone as an Associated Person, but turns out they were a victim and they need to be updated to a Client. There is a process in place for situations such as this, where a case was entered as one Intake Type, but needs to be updated to a different Intake Type. Note: Your center may refer to Intake Types as Case Types. To change the Intake Type of a case, start by clicking the Intake Type of the case.
On the next screen, you will see a row of “briefcases” representing the different Intake Types that are available to you. To update the Case Type, simply click on the briefcase that matches the type you are changing it to.
After you click on the Intake Type, you will then be taken to the intake form of that Type. Proceed by filling out the intake again. You will not have to completely re-enter information, as some common fields will carry over information that was already entered, such as Name, Address, and Biological Sex.
Once you have finished the intake form, the case will be in Open status and ready to be used for tracking information.
